Worcester Raiders are delighted to announce the signing of Alfie Bloomer, who joins Raiders for the upcoming 2023/24 season.
Bloomer joins Raiders having left Studley FC after a 2 year stint at the club last season. The forward played a key role in Studley's Hellenic League Division One title winning campaign, in which Raiders finished 2nd place, 8 points behind the champions. Bloomer finished that season as Studley's top scorer with 16 goals from 29 games. However, after missing the majority of the season with varying injuries, Alfie's time at the Bee's came to a close in February. Bloomer still managed 4 goals in his 6 games last season.
Former product of the Bromsgrove Sporting set up, Bloomer gained valuable experience at a young age throughout the non league pyramid, playing for clubs such as Pershore Town and Alcester Town.
The 24 year old had this to say about his move to Sixways: "When Karl [Gormley] phoned, it was a no brainer. The current and future ambitions of the club match mine and the lads that I have spoken to at the club couldn't praise Raiders enough. I'm excited to take the opportunity with both hands and try to help the lads strive to get to where we want to be come the end of the season. Having spent the majority of last season out, I'm more hungrier than ever. I look forward to seeing all the Raiders fans down at Sixways and get the ball rolling for the season ahead."
Welcome to Sixways, Alfie!
