Highly-rated midfielder joins Raiders' ranks

Worcester Raiders are delighted to announce the signing of highly-rated midfielder Jack Cresswell, who joins Raiders for the upcoming 2023/24 season.

The Redditch-born midfielder began his footballing career as a schoolboy at Manchester United before progressing through the youth ranks at Walsall. Cresswell boasts an impressive CV at the level with the likes of Kidderminster Harriers, Redditch United and Alvechurch all featuring.

More recently, Cresswell has featured regularly for Studley FC, helping them to achieve promotion in the Bee's Hellenic League Division One title winning campaign, in which Raiders finished 2nd place, 8 points behind the champions. The midfilder managed 4 goals from 26 games during the 21/22 campaign.

Jack had this to say about his move to Worcester Raiders: "It was a pretty easy decision for me to join Worcester Raiders this season. Let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to play at Sixways Stadium every week! I know a couple of the lads at the club who I’ve played with before, which also helped making my decision. After my meeting with Karl [Gormley], he explained how he wants to play football this season and it suits my game really well. I’m looking forward to playing my part in helping the club push on this season!"

Karl Gormley was very positive about the additions of Alfie Bloomer and Jack Cresswell's to the squad this week: "After meeting up with Alfie [Bloomer] and Jack [Cresswell] at Sixways last week, I think the 3 of us made our minds up pretty quickly. Alongside the players we have managed to retain for next season, the management team thought both lads would be brilliant additions to our squad. Both are proven at the level so it was a no brainer for us and we can’t wait to get to work with them on Saturday."

Welcome to Sixways Stadium, Jack!
